The Hospital Bag Checklist I Actually Used for Baby #3

Third Time's the Charm

lmk if I missed anything!! after packing a hospital bag three times I've finally figured out what you ACTUALLY need vs what every list on the internet tells you to bring. spoiler: you don't need 5 outfits for a 2-day stay hahah.

What I Actually Used

  • My own pillow — hospital pillows are terrible. bring your own. game changer.
  • Cozy robe — you're going to be in and out of bed a lot and a robe is so much easier than getting dressed.
  • Snacks — ALL the snacks. hospital food is fine but having your favorite snacks makes everything better.
  • Phone charger (long cord) — the outlets are never close to the bed. get a 10ft cord.
  • Going home outfit for baby — keep it simple. a onesie and a swaddle blanket.
  • Nipple cream — if you're breastfeeding you'll want this immediately.
  • Comfortable underwear — the mesh ones from the hospital are fine but I prefer my own.

What Was a Waste of Space

  • Multiple baby outfits (they live in a swaddle)
  • Books/magazines (you won't read them hahah)
  • Fancy toiletries (dry shampoo and face wipes are all you need)
  • A birth plan binder (things rarely go exactly to plan and that's okay)

The One Thing Nobody Tells You to Pack

something for your partner. Tanner was sleeping on the world's most uncomfortable couch and I felt so bad hahah. bring them a blanket and a pillow and some snacks too. they're going through it with you ❤️

my bag is from BEIS weekender! make sure to use code LOBEESTON15 for 15% off :,)
